The H&R Johnson Trophy 2010 |
The 116th meeting of TIGS, 3rd of the season, was held at Edgebaston Golf Club on Wednesday 19th May 2010.
The weather was fantastic with lots of sunshine, perfect conditions for golfing, as we have become accustomed on TIGS golfing days.
Edgebaston is in the middle of Birmingham set 144 acres of woodland and is a bit of a hidden gem.
The course was in reasonable nick to say what a harsh winter we have had, the greens have just been relayed, but
they were true just a bit slow. The hospitality was second to none and I would recommend a second visit some time in the future.
18 members and 2 guests competed for The Michael Heath Trophy. The winner with a good score of 37 points was Steve Wyatt.
2nd was Geoff Snape with a score of 35 points, Mike Linwood was 3rd also with 35 points.
Steve will have his handicap reduced from 10 to 8 .Geoff’s handicap will be reduced from 10 to 9.
The winning visitor was Ron Austin’s guest Ron Harris with a score of 29 points.
The better ball team prize was won by messes Pettigrew, Rogers, Roberts and Larraz with 93 points.
Nearest the pin prizes were won by Ron Harris (3rd hole) and Steve Wyatt (14th hole).
Nearest the pin in 2 was won by Gary Hardy (16th hole)
