The 107th meeting of TIGS, and last of the season, was held at Lindrick Golf Club on Friday 17th October 2008.As usual for our golf days the weather was fantastic,
sunny with blue skies overhead and a slight breeze perfect golfing weather.
Lindrick is a superb golf course very demanding from the tee as the fairways are narrow and the rough was pretty tough. The course was in really good condition and
the greens were quite fast.
28 members and 6 guests competed for The Staloton Trophy, the winner with 34 points Ron Austin, Ron is the oldest winner of a trophy TIGS have ever had. 2nd was
Steve Wyatt on 33 points and a better back 9 than 3rd place Joe Larraz, John Holcroft had 32 points and was 4th,and 5th with 31 points Steve Haigh.
Ron will be highly delighted his handicap has been reduced from 10 to 8 and Steve will be equally please to know his handicap is cut from 10 to 9.
The winning visitor was Richard Choroszewski`s guest Steve Slawson with 29 points, second placed was Geoff Snape`s guest Brian Hughes with 27 points.Steve`s
handicap is reduced from 20 to 16 and Brian will be cut from 6 to 5.
The winning better ball team prize went to Geoff Snape, Brian Hughes, Mick Boulton and Greg Hammond with 90 points.
Nearest the pin prizes were won by Gary Hardy 6th hole and Mick Boulton on the 18th hole.
The longest drive was won by Chris Harris on hole 14. (SAME OLD FACES)
The Royal Mosa match play trophy was presented to Michael Heath.Michael`s handicap is to be reduced from 7 to 5.
The Flor Gres aggregate trophy (best 3 rounds) was presented to Gary Hardy with a fantastic score of 109 points; Gary played most of the season off a reduced
handicap, and will be playing most of next year off his reduced handicap of PLUS 1.
