The Staloton Trophy 2010 |
The 119th meeting of TIGS, 6th and last of the season, was held at Sherwood Forest Golf Club on Wednesday 13th October 2010.
It was a glorious sunny day October day The Captain is taking credit for ordering the weather again as we have had some
glorious TIGS days this year.
Sherwood Forest is a fantastic venue for TIGS, the course was in good condition and the staff made us really welcome.
I would certainly go back in future years.
14 members and 3 guests competed for The Staloton Trophy. The winner with a score of 42 points was Simon Leary.
2nd was John Holcroft with a score of 38 points, Chris Harris was 3rdalso with 37 points.
Simon’s will have his handicap reduced from 12 to 9 .John’s handicap will be reduced from 19 to 17.
The winning visitor was Ken Smith’s guest Jamie Potts with a score of 33 points, Mike Linwood’s guest Kevin Donnelly was 2nd with 32 points.
When Jamie attends next his handicap pulled from 23 to 19, as a new member Kevin’s handicap will be down from 18 to 16 the next time he attends.
The better ball team prize was won by messes Snape, Holcroft, Hammond and Leary with 105 points.
Nearest the pin prizes were won by Tony Rogers (cracking shot) (4th hole) and Chris Harris (15th hole).
Nearest the pin in 2 was also won by Michael Heath (about 3 foot away) (18th hole).
The Flor Gres Aggregate Trophy was won by EL BANDITO Greg Hammond with 113 points. Greg has only played 3 rounds with TIGS this year some kind of record.
Greg’s already reduced handicap will be cut even further from 13 to 10.
